Director

Linda is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Tax Adviser, with a wealth of experience looking after businesses, professional partnerships and medical practitioners. She also has significant expertise in technology-based companies, advising businesses all the way from start-up to their eventual sale to listed companies. In her spare time, Linda is a volunteer for Tax Help.

Clients value her genuine interest in them and their business, and her tireless, supportive approach to helping them realise their goals.

Gavin Whitter

Director

Gavin is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Tax Adviser. He also holds the Institute of Chartered Accountants Non-Executive Director Certificate.

Gavin has been advising business owners for over 30 years and looks after our larger corporate clients, as well as heading up our Charity Division and Solicitors Division. He is a former trustee director of The National Museum of the Royal Navy where he was also Chair of the Audit and Governance Committee.

Gavin is known for his quick intellect, and providing imaginative solutions to almost any problem. Clients value his ability to get straight to the heart of an issue, his positive attitude, and friendly, outgoing personality.

David Bourne

Senior Manager

Since qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2007, David has built up a huge amount of expertise in a wide range of business sectors. He is very technically minded, which is an invaluable quality for making sure our clients are compliant with even the most challenging legislation and regulations. In his spare time, David is a trustee director of Wymering Manor Trust where he chairs the finance sub committee.

Clients admire his ability to produce very complex and accurate information in even the most difficult circumstances. David is regarded as unflappable and ‘the rock’ for an increasing number of organisations.

Emma Baldwin

Emma qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant with a local practice and joined Gibson Whitter to be part of an exciting, fast growing practice and to work closely with a wide variety of clients.

She combines solid technical expertise with a supportive and friendly approach.

Carla qualified as a Chartered Accountant with a local practice, before moving to a larger firm where she worked closely with the senior team members of Gibson Whitter. Carla couldn’t wait to join our new and dynamic practice and we were delighted to be able to add her to our team. Carla is highly respected by her colleagues and excels at the most difficult of assignments .

Luke Attrill

Luke is a Chartered Accountant who joined Gibson Whitter as an accounting apprentice. Luke quickly worked his way through the exams and now leads the audits of our larger clients.

Luke has a strength and depth of technical ability and quickly rose to be a senior member of the team. He is a safe pair of hands.

Michelle is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals. She is a hugely experienced and dedicated payroll professional and has primary responsibility for managing our payroll bureau service. Always professional and friendly, Michelle is a reassuring presence in this high-compliance area.

Anita is a hugely experienced member of the team, with a background in both private practice and industry. Always helpful and friendly, Anita has high standards and is dedicated to getting the job done.

Kara Parker

Kara is a qualified a Chartered Accountant and joined Gibson Whitter from Deloitte in 2018. She manages as a portfolio of clients, whilst also leading on major audits.

Kara is a highly focused, intelligent, and dependable team member.

Alex Aston

Alex joined us as a qualified Accounting Technician from a smaller local practice, as he wanted to broaden his experience and study for his Chartered Accountancy qualification. He is making quick progress through these exams and is rapidly increasing in seniority. Alex is a highly capable, charming, and composed individual.

Bethany is an adaptable and determined member of our team. She holds the Institute of Chartered Accountants Certificate in Finance and Business qualification as well as a NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration.

Vaughan Wilcox

Vaughan joined the team in 2024. He has a Degree in Financial Management from Portsmouth University and is progressing towards qualifying as a Chartered Accountant.

Marianna Beardall

Marianna holds a NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration and has a certificate in Classical Languages Studies from Sicily.

She is an experienced administrator and personal assistant, with a background of supporting professionals over a wide range of sectors. She combines a highly professional work ethic with a friendly and self-assured attitude.
